We are seeking an experienced administrative profession for a highly visible role within our prestigious Ellison 12 Medical unit at Massachusetts General Hospital.

• Ellison 12 is a 36-bed unit devoted to the care of the acutely ill medical patient. The patient population on this unit includes a diverse mix of medical diagnoses requiring complex nursing care. Ellison 12 is seeking a Unit Coordinator, with Days availability, and to provide rotational holiday coverage.

As a Unit Coordinator, you will . . .

• Play a critical role in patient care by serving as the central source of information by communicating with patients, families and medical staff.
• Transcribe medical charts for patients to ensure that the medical treatments and procedures are carried out and order supplies for the unit.
• Acts as the central contact person for the nursing unit; performs transcription, clerical and reception duties; and will become an expert user in Epic.
• Work under the direction of the Nurse Manager or designee to coordinate the non-nursing/non-clinical activities essential to the effective functioning of the nursing unit.
• Requires a high degree of accuracy and strong communications skills.
