Job Description
The Massachusetts General Hospital Police and Security Department is actively seeking qualified Telecommunicators to staff a 24-hour dispatch center to join our team of communications specialists.
Under the general direction of the Communications Center Manager, incumbent is responsible for the function of all communication center activities, including the operation and maintenance of the central control dispatch center equipment,including telephones, alarm systems, access control systems, CCTV systems, digital video recorders, radio systems and computers; ensuring that all equipment is in good working order and communicates with the Security Systems group on ensuring timely repairs.
Incumbent is also responsible for handles all service and emergency telephone calls and all radio communication transmissions, sending and receiving calls for service and documenting the activities of all security personnel on duty.
The MGH PD provides a safe and secure environment for hospital patients, visitors, and employees by enforcing hospital regulations, and maintaining active, continuous vigilance.

To be considered an eligible candidate, applicants must meet or exceed the Minimum Requirements as specified below.
Applicants with CJIS, E911, Emergency Medical Dispatch, CPR training and certification, experience as a police dispatcher and/or fire alarm operator, knowledge of computer aided dispatch systems, and those seeking a career in emergency communications will be given preference.
