Job Description:

OFFICIAL TITLE: MassArt Activities Council (MAC) Executive Board Member
FUNCTIONAL TITLE: Intercultural Events Coordinator
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Through engaging students at MassArt, the MassArt Activities Council (MAC) provides activities that enhance learning and personal development. These activities are educational, diverse, entertaining, and designed to complement the college experience while serving the campus community. The Director of the MAC Board helps lead the board and its Minis to execute these events, and aids in improving the overall student experience through programming.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Program Coordinator of Student Engagement
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Intercultural Events Coordinator is required to perform the following:
  • Responsible for working with the affinity groups (SGA/JET) on campus surrounding culture based events on campus.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for all cultural events on campus hosted by the MAC Board.
  • Serves as a resource / first point of contact to help students run culture events that may or may not be already recognized as an affinity group within SGA / JET.
  • Responsible for coordinating the annual Culture Night / Affinity Group Mixer with participating affinity groups, the International Education Center, and the Office of Justice Equity & Transformation (JET).
  • If schedule allows - attend JET Student Leader / Affinity Group meetings with the Program Coordinator of Student Engagement.
  • Partake in event planning and execution as outlined within the MAC Handbook.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to work evenings
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • In order to be eligible for an officer position, a candidate must have the following qualification(s):
  • Currently be a full-time undergraduate student at MassArt
  • Be in good-standing and academic standing with the university
