The clinical laboratory at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH), in collaboration with the Department of Medicine, is seeking an outstanding Research Assistant who will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers that aims to improve patient care and optimize the delivery of laboratory services in inpatient, ambulatory and urgent care settings. The clinical laboratory at BWH utilizes innovative technologies and dedicated staff to perform over 7 million tests per year for our patients at BWH and Dana Farber Cancer Institute, both affiliates of Harvard Medical School. The candidate will work closely with clinical laboratory leadership ( Drs. Melanson, Tanasijevic, and Tolan (detailed background and publication history can be found on Harvard Catalyst profiles https://connects.catalyst.harvard.edu/Profiles/search/ ) and other clinical colleagues including internal medicine, primary care, nephrology, emergency medicine and palliative care.
The applicant will be an active participant in clinical research projects designed to improve laboratory decision support, reduce diagnostic errors, optimize laboratory workflows and develop novel diagnostic testing. The applicant will have an opportunity to grow their medical education and gain experience in the hospital and clinical pathology laboratory. Data collection and analytics will be the primary responsibility of the applicant. However, the applicant will also be responsible for literature reviews, study design, IRB submission, sample testing, medical record reviews, statistical analysis, and manuscript preparation.

Experience with data analysis, statistics, and software such as Excel, Phyton, R and/or Tableau is preferred.
