The Opportunity

As a Manager, Cogito Analytics, will help support and manage a wide portfolio of Epic Cogito tools and products.

You will be responsible for the daily operation and staff management of the Cogito reporting team. You will participate in the organization's analytic strategy, aligning the work of the Cogito team to deliver insights that align with Mass General Brigham systems goals. Leveraging Epic data, both within the Epic platform and within our enterprise data platforms, you will manage and coordinate analytic requests, acting as a project manager. You will guide staff, coordinate with business users to translate business requirements into analytics, reports and dashboards. You will maintain and support the suite of Epic analytics products, such as Clarity extracts, Cogito SQL reports, reporting work bench reports, and slicer dicer and radar dashboards. You will work to support, promote and drive best practices, help to standardize work processes and understand the teams capacity and promote innovation in all aspects of the teams work. You'll serve as an Epic subject matter expert for the Cogito team and their customers. You will utilize Clarity, Caboodle, and Snowflake, among others, to create visually appealing and digestible data presentations. Your expertise in Epic Cogito and associated technologies, coupled with strong communication and problem-solving skills, will drive the success of multiple projects and initiatives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

* Provide direction and leadership to staff, ensuring analytics projects align with system goals.* Responsible for the daily operation and staff management of the Cogito Reporting Team* Works collaboratively with other non-Epic analytic teams on analytic initiatives to support our stakeholders needs.* Participate in strategic projects to expand and modernize our analytics solutions such as expanding caboodle data models and migration of clarity to Nebula* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and address analytic and reporting needs across clinical and business operations.* Manage and coordinate analytics tasks and resource capacity. * Guide and manage staff to coordinate with business users to translate business requirements into analytics, reports and dashboards.* Identify and manage issues and risks, assuring appropriate resolution/escalation and mitigation strategies are documented and assigned and status tracked.* Assists with the design and development of analytics applications and tools.* Review upgrade documentation related to analytics tools and content and determining how to implement, disseminate, and train the changes.* Deciding which reporting tools to use as new data needs arise, including but not limited to: Clarity and Caboodle reports; Extract Framework: Metrics; Benchmarking; Radar; Analytics Catalog Registry Framework and data marts; Reporting Workbench; SlicerDicer* Acts as a liaison to coordinate and communicate with the Clarity platform team regarding technical capabilities and services.* Gather user requirements and translate them into well-designed and validated BI solutions using tools such as Cogtio SQL, Clarity, Caboodle, and SlicerDicer.* May be asked to develop, test, and implement reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions primarily utilizing Epic Cogito Data and Analytic Platform, Snowflake, and SQL Server.* Create and edit Stored Procedures, Views, Functions and Queries on SQL Server to pull require data for reporting purposes using SQL Server Management Studio. * Work with end-users and other analytic platform teams to provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and optimize software performance.* Stay current with emerging software technologies and industry trends to recommend enhancements and innovations.* Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure timely and successful delivery of analytics solutions.* Provide expertise in relational databases, report writing tools, and Epic data models, contributing to the development and maintenance of complex reports and databases.* Participate in on-call coverage * Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive data.* Adhere to organizational standards and apply communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve system issues.

Qualifications

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Administration, Health Sciences, or equivalent experience.* Certification in Epic Cogito Fundamentals and relevant data models.* 10 years of experience in healthcare data analytics or SQL reporting, preferably with electronic medical records systems.* 5 years of experience managing projects* 3 years of management, supervisory or lead experience* Proficiency in SQL, relational database concepts, and report writing tools such as Crystal Reports, Business Objects, or Tableau.* Experience with project management and/or agile methodologies* Strong interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills.* Experience overseeing the design, development and implementation of analytics solutions, systems and products* Commitment to continuous improvement, personal growth, and collaboration.* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications* Understanding of clinical and business operations workflows and system configurations

*Proficiency in SQL, Windows and MS Office 365, familiarity with ServiceNow, Microsoft ADO, Workfront or similar tools

*Ability to work effectively in a complex and agile environment while remaining flexible and adaptable

*High-energy, high-impact, team-oriented professional that builds strong working relationships

Supervisor duties

* 5-8 direct reports
