Mass General Brigham is Hiring an Emergency Room RN Near Newton, MA

Newton Wellesley Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, demonstrating strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Emergency Department RN will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care within the emergency department

Work Schedule:

  • 3x 12-hour shifts per week: 7:15 pm to 7:15 am.
  • Every 3rd weekend and every other holiday.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on acuity levels.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered by physicians.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in handling emergency situations and critical thinking skills.

Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • Possess strong interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make quick decisions in a high-pressure environment.
  • Proficient in conflict management and resolution.
  • Sound clinical judgment and critical thinking abilities.

Education and Experience:

  • Current Massachusetts RN license required.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred.
  • Emergency Department (ED) experience preferred.

Training Certifications and/or Registrations:

  • CPR Training required within the first 3 months of employment.
  • Evidence of continued education and commitment to professional development.
  • ACLS, PALS, and CPI required within the first year of employment.
  • CEN or CCRN certification preferred.
