Mass General Brigham is Hiring an Emergency Department RN Near Boston, MA

Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Overview:
Join our team at Mass Eye and Ear's Emergency Department, a 24/7 facility specializing in Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology emergencies. As a Registered Professional Nurse, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of patient care by utilizing the nursing process. Collaborating closely with interns, residents, fellows, and attending physicians, you will demonstrate exceptional observational skills, prioritize tasks effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Schedule 36 Hour 3 x12 hour Rotating or Night Shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain standards of professional nursing practice through continuous assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care and education.
  • Provide guidance and direction to ancillary personnel, ensuring adherence to nursing practice standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Demonstrate leadership in stressful situations, exhibiting strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current licensure as a professional nurse in Massachusetts.
  • Minimum of 2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.
  • Related experience required for advanced clinical and specialty areas.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with the capacity to thrive under stress.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Membership in a professional nursing organization desired.
