Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania - Elizabethtown Campus - is immediately hiring a Part Time Day Unit Assistant working Monday - Friday only, 32 hours per week. (Option for Full Time working 40 hours per week if working as CNA 1 day per week.)

As a Unit Assistant, you will carry out our Mission of Love by providing interpersonal and clerical support to the neighborhood residents, families, and staff. Assist nurse manager with data gathering, neighborhood organization, and clerical tasks as directed. Attend trainings. Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work. Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.

Our Unit Assistant is responsible for the following:

• Assists in maintaining a clinical chart with information that is current, accurate, easily retrievable and readily available for each resident on the unit. Provides technical/secretarial support according to the current task list. Assists with training of new staff. Assists with the maintenance of procedural manuals. Provides support of peers as necessary due to absences.
• Supports compliance with regulatory agencies and facility policy by assuring a display of required postings and by completing quantitative chart audits. Accurately codes diagnoses as necessary for reimbursement and to provide an accurate diagnostic database.
• Processes information upon resident admission, transfer, discharge and death. Coordinates the complete, accurate and timely completion of the death certificate as required.
• Releases information in accordance with established legal guidelines, HIPAA regulations and Masonic Village' policies, to residents, family members, insurance companies, health care facilities, etc. in a prompt and courteous manner. Maintains statistics and monitors trends as requested.
• Maintains personal competence by reading, attending educational programs and meetings as required or requested. Assists in maintaining a work environment conducive to productivity and safety.
• Assists residents and their families as needed within the scope of HIM practice, responsibility and authority in a prompt and courteous manner. Assists with any other duties as needed within the scope of HIM/Unit Assistant practice, responsibility and authority.
• Assist with dining room meal service in a hostess role as needed but at least 2x per week.
• Serve as back up Unit Assistant to sister neighborhood by checking in with sister neighborhoods Nurse Manager and assisting as directed.

What You Have:

• Current and valid CNA certification in the state of Pennsylvannia.
• Ability to use a telephone, copier, fax machine, computer terminal and printer are required. Knowledge of Windows software and MatrixCare is preferred.
• A positive attitude and the ability to interact with individuals of all educational and experience backgrounds are required.
