The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of equipment, machinery, and facilities. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, as well as conducting repairs and installations as needed to support operational efficiency and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance and Repair:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery, equipment, and building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and identify root causes of issues to determine appropriate repair solutions.
• Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty components or parts using hand and power tools, following manufacturer instructions and safety protocols.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operations.

2. Preventative Maintenance:

• Conduct scheduled inspections of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs and address potential problems proactively.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of equipment and reduce the likelihood of breakdowns or failures.
• Perform lubrication, calibration, and adjustments on machinery and equipment to maintain optimal performance and efficiency.

3. Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks, ensuring the safety of oneself and others in the vicinity.
• Inspect and maintain safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and safety harnesses, to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses to the appropriate supervisor or manager and participate in safety training programs as required.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and equipment maintenance logs.
• Document equipment specifications, operating procedures, and maintenance manuals for reference and training purposes.
• Provide regular updates on maintenance tasks, repairs, and equipment status to supervisors and other stakeholders.

5. Team Collaboration:

• Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and departmental teams to coordinate maintenance activities and share knowledge and expertise.
• Assist in the implementation of new equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications, working closely with engineering and operations teams.
• Participate in cross-training initiatives to develop skills in multiple maintenance disciplines and enhance overall departmental effectiveness.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant trade qualification preferred.
• Proven experience in maintenance operations, with at least [3 years] of hands-on experience in a similar role.
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software.
