We have an opportunity for a top candidate to join Maryville College’s staff as the new Electrician.

As the new Electrician, you will be responsible for installing and repairing electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components and equipment in campus facilities and grounds. The position is also subject to work after hours weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Also subject to call-ins and being on rotational on-call through weekends.

Your primary job duties and responsibilities would include:

• Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment. Must understand three phase and single-phase electrical systems. Will be working with voltage up and including 480 volts.
• Replaces faulty electrical components on machines such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices. Must possess the skills and ability to troubleshoot electrical problems using electrical diagnostic devices.
• Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus.
• Diagnose and replace faulty electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
• Maybe required to complete other work request relating to facilities maintenance.

Minimum qualifications for this job required are:

Education required to ensure success in this position:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Experience required to ensure success in this position:

• 4 yrs experience or combination of experience and relevant education.

Special skills, knowledge and abilities:

• Must have working knowledge of both high and low voltage circuits and related components and mechanisms.
• Must have the ability to read and understand building blueprints and schematics.

License, certification, or registration necessary:

• Licensed Journeyman Electrician, required.
• Valid driver’s license, required .
