Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with a range of need and DSM-5 diagnostic conditions. Maryland Neuropsychological Services is in particular need of clinicians comfortable working with Autisitic children and adults. We need a therapist willing to have at least one in-person day a week and who is able to offer some after-school availability for our clients, as needed.

Duties:

- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients

- Provide direct patient care

- Monitor and document patient behaviors, progress, and responses to treatment

- Utilize evidence-based therapy to support patients' emotional well-being

- Implement crisis management strategies and safety planning as needed to ensure patient safety

- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and/or teachers to help ensure quality care

- Assist in diagnostic evaluations and assessments of patients' mental health conditions

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records

- Provide timely turn-around of notes

- Maintain appropriate licenses and malpractice insurance coverage

Skills:

- Previous experience working with Autism is preferred

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities and other mental health conditions

- Ability to provide parent coaching/training and to provide family therapy, as needed

- Familiarity with evidenced based therapies

- Proficient in crisis management strategies

- Experience using a telehealth platform for mental health care

- Knowledge of motivational interviewing techniques

- Understanding of diagnostic evaluation processes and assessments for mental health conditions

Education/Licenses:

- A minimum of a Masters in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work from an accredited university.

- Indepent license to practice in the state of Maryland (LCSW, LCPC, Licensed Psychologist)

-Ability to legally practice via telehealth across state lines in preferred, but not required
