The Mary T Family of Companies is hiring for a full-time Housekeeping and Laundry Aide to work within our Assisted Living locations in Coon Rapids, MN.

The Housekeeping and Laundry Aide is responsible for the general cleaning and laundry tasks for the assigned facility, providing a clean, safe, pleasant, and functional environment. This position will also assist with some dietary duties, including meal delivery and potential meal preparation.

This is a full-time position, offering 32-37 hours per week. The hours will be Monday - Friday daytime hours and every-other Sunday morning, with a flexible day off during the week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC JOB DUTIES:

• Ensures resident rooms are neat, orderly and odor free
• Follow the established facility cleaning and laundry routines
• Ensures that equipment and chemicals are stored according to the facility policy
• Ensures that inventory cart and custodial closet are organized and stocked with appropriate supplies
• Keep facility common areas clean and maintained
• Adheres to all infection control practices
• Vacuum, sweep and mop floors
• Clean and stock restrooms
• Clean spills with appropriate equipment; notify management of necessary repairs
• Keep linen room stocked
• Sort linens and treat stains
• Sort, fold and/or hang clean dry laundry
• Identify worn and torn linens
• Report maintenance needs for equipment to management
• Prepare resident rooms for new admissions; deep clean rooms after discharge
• Give particular care to resident laundry
• Assist with basic preparation of meals or portions of meals to be served to residents
• Assist with delivery of meals to Assisted Living locations
• Other duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION

• Candidates will need to complete a background check through the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) as well as a Tuberculosis (TB) test

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or GED

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSE:

• Valid Driver's license

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience in housekeeping, laundry and/or dietary in a health care facility preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Ability to demonstrate and practice the principles of proper body mechanics for all physical activities
• Ability to practice universal precautions, standards and facility infection control procedures
• Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to special or emergency situations
• Knowledge of and ability to operate cleaning and laundry equipment, safely
• Knowledge of and ability to use cleaning and laundry chemicals, safely
