Description
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare team! Reporting to the Health Services Clinical Director, you will be part of a collaborative and supportive team responsible for providing healthcare to families and individuals of all ages. In this role, you will provide healthcare coordination, medical case management, and general medical assistance to families experiencing homelessness, including medically fragile children and infants. You will also train, support, and collaborate with other healthcare partners, volunteers, and employees to support our guests at Mary’s Place.
This is a part-time, non-exempt position based at our Burien site and supporting multiple sites in King County, with occasional evening/weekend hours as needed. Hourly wage range for this position is $34.00 - $38.00 DOE.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide compassionate care for families, individuals, and infants; addressing general healthcare concerns
• Effectively advocate for ethical and holistic care of guests; promoting the autonomy, dignity, rights, and values of our guests within our community and with other providers
• Collaborate with staff to accommodate health needs of guests with acute and chronic medical conditions
• Develop relationships with community clinics, hospitals, and other community resources; coordinate referrals to appropriate medical providers and outside resources as needed
• Partner with volunteer healthcare professionals to provide quality care to guests.
• Lead and oversee emergency procedures for assigned shelter sites
• Maintain appropriate records, documentation, and statistics
Requirements
Skills/Qualifications Required
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current WA State Medical license (RN)
• 3 years’ experience serving high-risk and vulnerable populations in healthcare setting
• Demonstrated success in problem-solving, conflict mediation, and crisis management
• Demonstrated ability to convey compassion, understanding, and empathy while working with diverse staff, guests, and community partners in a multi-racial and multi-cultural environment
• Well versed in Trauma-Informed Care and Motivational Interviewing philosophies
• Understanding of the effects of systemic racism and its intersections with poverty and homelessness
• Ability to set appropriate boundaries and maintain calm demeanor in a chaotic setting
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• CPR certification
• Applicants must provide proof of vaccination status and participate in weekly Covid19 testing
