Job Summary : To operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
Required Education and Experience :
- High School education with mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision
- Ability to work in a team environment and be a Team Player
- Flexibility to work overtime as required
- Ability to work on different shifts as required
- Ability to organize workload in an organized and tidy manner
- Support Quality System, Safety and Environmental Management System requirements
- Must be willing to perform tasks that are of reasonable request by Supervisor
- Ensure that all duties and tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and at no time is the employee or their co-workers placed in an unsafe condition
Essential Functions :
- Weld all and any metal assembly parts within provided weld specifications
- Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by the Company
- Inspect all welds to ensure conformance to specifications as well as removal of all spatters
- Assemble parts according to instructions provided
- Operate a welding cell and or assembly line and to perform other duties according to specific job instructions provided
- Work in a safe manner, obeying all health and safety regulations. Report all unsafe acts and conditions to Supervisor and / or the Joint Health and Safety Committee
- Follow instructions / directions as required by Supervisor and / or Team Leader
- Complete all production and quality documentation in an accurate and timely manner as required including labelling process.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, productivity, quality, customer service, cost reduction and safety requirement
- Ensure housekeeping is maintain at all time at the work cell
- Ensure that only quality parts are passed on to the next operation
- Ensure that production quota is met on each shift
Working Environment :
100% plant floor (PPE required)
Physical Demands :
- Require communication with employees, peers and management
- Lifting and pushing as needed
Health and Safety :
- Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
- Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
