Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Independent Construction Accountant to provide accounting services for construction projects on a freelance basis. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of construction accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously.

Martinez Casitas LLC is a Tiny Home Construction Company that specializes in dwellings under 1000 sqft on wheels and on permanent foundations in your backyard. We are in a soft-launch and growing quickly.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial records
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate recording of employee compensation
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Proven experience working in accounting or finance roles
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and accounting procedures
- Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks) and MS Office Suite (particularly Excel)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of governmental accounting is a plus
- Previous experience in public accounting or corporate accounting is preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $36,919.19 - $44,461.82 per year
