What will you do?

In this role, you will manage employees in the daily production operations while holding them accountable for all company policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the department and its employees; including all performance management, time-keeping, and safety procedures.
• Assist in the training of new hire employees and ongoing education for the team.
• Expedite shop orders through the department.
• Coordinate with management and/or employees from other departments in the manufacturing/fabrication/assembly process.
• Help team to maintain machines and work area in a clean and safe manner.
• Floating schedule to cover Supervision absences. Base schedule is 8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday-Friday.
• Must be available before and after shift. Always one to two week notice before shift change.

Key Competencies:

• Have previous supervisory/management experience 
• Experience in one or all of the following is preferred: welding; metal fabrication; machining
• Able to read blueprints
• Excellent communication skills; able to converse professionally with shop and office employees, supervisors, managers, and executives 
• Proficient with performance management, including plans of action and evaluations
• Proficient with MS Office 
• Strong focus on Safety
• Detail-oriented
• Consistent shop floor presence (2/3 of shift)
• Multi-task on a consistent basis throughout the shift 
• Average math skills; ability to read and comprehend instructions written in English and complete logs, documents, and reports in English
• Work with others and be a team player
