What will you do?

In this role, you will operate manual grinding and wire brush equipment to remove burrs from precision parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work from process sheets, blueprints, or other written/verbal instructions given by supervisors to perform production tasks.
  • Maneuver large, awkward, and heavy parts manually or with a crane.
  • Set-up, operate, and tend machines used to process components.
  • Install, align, and lock dies, punches, blades or other machine fixtures to assure safe operation of machine.
  • Maintain machine and work area in a clean and safe manner.
  • Work safely and wear all required PPE for the duration of the shift.
  • Check and inspect operation against predetermined tolerances. 
  • Work in other areas or departments as assigned.
  • Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

What are we looking for?

We're looking for engaged individuals who are adaptable to a changing environment, take pleasure in learning, and enjoy working with others.

Key Competencies:

  • Knowledge of all required measuring equipment which includes calipers, gauges
  • Proficient math skills
  • Ability to document machining procedures 
  • Knowledge of metals, part-holding fixtures, and lathe/mill tooling
  • Experience in Okuma, Mazak, and Mori lathe machines preferred
  • Simple oral communication skills; ability to read and comprehend instructions written in English and complete simple logs and reports in English
  • Physically able to handle heavy items, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning components
  • Work scheduled hours and comply with the company's timekeeping policy and all other company policies
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment
  • Consistently stand for an entire shift
  • Strong knowledge of machining practices and materials is a must, as is general mechanical knowledge
  • Willingness to be trained with a desire to learn
  • Ability to work in a team setting
  • Great work ethic, reliable, positive attitude
