General Summary
Under the direction of the District Maintenance Manager, the Plant Maintenance Supervisor will assist in the day-to-day operations of mechanical and electrical maintenance activities associated with Predictive Maintenance (PdM), Unscheduled, and Preventative Maintenance scheduling (PM's), and repairs. Closely coordinating with dispatch and plant personnel preventing minimal downtime.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Scheduling safety meeting to include onsite pre-operational safety outline and policy, to include conducting monthly safety meetings, ensure good housekeeping, and preventing employee injuries.
  • Scheduling planning maintenance activities and sourcing necessary equipment/staffing.
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) representative on accident investigations, and job inspections sites for potential hazards.
  • Assist plant maintenance supervisor on personnel day-to-day operations.
  • Manage and implement day to day maintenance plans, to include input Oracle JD Edwards Purchase Orders (PO's).
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the preventative maintenance program as directed, and assisting in offloading Oracle JD Edwards PM schedule.
  • Communicates timely and effectively with Plant Managers, Dispatch and Operations Manager to keep them informed about major problems.
  • Assist in the development, implementing, and controlling of maintenance budget.
  • Responsible for development and training of maintenance personnel.
  • Exercise independent decision-making and must be able to prioritize conflicting demands.
  • Assist in research of new technology and development of projects for plant upgrades.
  • Coordinates and assists with Human Resources issues to include but not limited to: screening new applicants, new employee training and other employee relation activities for assignments.
  • Work to establish and maintain positive relationships with regulatory personnel on behalf of the Company.
  • Must be able to follow MM policy manuals, equipment and safety manuals, OSHA, TNRCC, EPA and other regulatory agencies requirements.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of lockout/tag-out out procedures required during all maintenance related activities procedures.
  • Confers with equipment and parts suppliers.
  • Performs purchasing and price comparisons.
  • Perform other duties as required.Excellent presentation skills and have the ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills required
  • Preferred Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must possess assertive and persuasive attributes. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Computer/PC literacy required.
  • Welding, repair and Fabrication skill required, along with reading of blue prints and electrical schematics.
  • Self-starter with ability to perform well in a "Team" environment.
  • Education and Experience
  • High school graduate
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred or 5 years management experience in lieu of
  • Electrical licensing a plus
  • Command Alkon Training preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of concrete or closely related industry production methods and processes preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel long distances by car.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Ability to stoop, crawl, reach, bend and kneel as required and walk up to 200 yards over rough or uneven terrain.
  • Must be able to work a minimum 10 hours per day, five days per week and/or weekends as required.
  • Ability to operate computer and calculator as required.
