Position: GIS Analyst
Location: Stuart, FL, 34996
Position is CONTRACT with reSOURCE
Pay Rate: $55-$66K annually benefits, PTO and holiday pay
Must be able to pass criminal background and drug testing
SUMMARYResponsible for the development and implementation of applications for the County-wide Geographic Information System (GIS) and for providing professional analysis and advance technical support for GIS applications and software. In the event of a natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AMD ABILITIES(Note: The listed duties are illustrative only and are not intended to describe each and every function, which may be performed in the job class. The omission of specific statements does not preclude management from assigning specific duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position.) Implements GIS software and applications. Develops modeling methodologies, coordinates geospatial data collection, management, analysis, and generates project maps and presentations to meet the analytical and technical needs of County departments, other County, State and Federal agencies, and the public. Creates thematic geospatial datasets; generating programming for and analysis of spatial data; producing hard copy maps, reports, and analysis for presentation; operating and maintaining GIS equipment; and utilizing enterprise level computers and databases. Provides advance technical support for mapping activities and other GIS related projects as requested. Reviews base maps and GIS backbone to determine accuracy and completeness. Update and back-up data/databases. Integrates and maintains interfaces and tools that interact with various applications.Coordinates field progress with other departments. Research, Identify, analyze, and design databases for various applications. Performs work related to this job description as directed.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: (Note: The knowledge, skills, and abilities identified in this class specification represent those needed to perform the duties of this class. Additional knowledge, skills and abilities may be applicable for individual positions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)Knowledge of and proficiency in computers with emphasis on microcomputers, minicomputers, graphic workstations, and CAD/CAM technology such as digitizers and plotters. Knowledge of ESRI software products. Knowledge of database software such as ORACLE or MS SQL.Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL and Python.Ability to program supplemental software that supports ESRI software. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, maintain good working relationships, exercise initiative and sound judgement and take the lead in coordinating and organizing end user activities.Ability to perform spatial analysis and create maps with GIS software.Ability to provide GIS technical support to internal and external County clients. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Engineering, Geography, Computer Science, or closely related field and two (2) years of experience in GIS applications and ARC/Info.
