Salary:

Quality Control Technician is responsible for quality control related activities to fulfill expectations and specific contract requirements of concrete construction project stakeholders. The work involves overseeing and assuring quality work during various stages of construction to confirm compliance with the contract documents. Quality Control’s primary focus is on the early identification and resolution of potential problems before they impact the project. In addition, guarantee our customers have an above and beyond experience while working with Martin Concrete Construction. In addition to other program requirements, the Quality Control Technician will conduct daily field inspections for projects. The technician is responsible for documenting observed conditions and completing inspection reports. This is a full-time, onsite field position. The technician will report to assigned projects for the durations as required to support project needs. This is a traveling position.

Responsibilities

  • Report to assigned projects and provide full-time onsite quality representation for projects within the US.
  • Review of construction documents to identify and resolve conflicts/discrepancies between plans, specifications, and disciplines (architectural, structural, civil, MEP, etc.)
  • Conduct coordination drawing review to maintain alignment of subcontractor/vendor scopes and responsibilities
  • Ensure field personnel, subcontractors and vendors have received and adhere to current drawings, specifications, and quality program requirements
  • Check to assure that all materials and/or equipment have been tested, submitted, and approved in accordance with construction documents, client requirements and company standards
  • Ensure material delivery receipt has been inspected for compliance, damage, and storage
  • Perform visual inspections of construction in accordance with client requirements and company standards
  • Examine work area to establish that all required preliminary work has been completed as required
  • Maintain formal deficiency/re-work tracking system and distribute to project teams in accordance with quality program requirements
  • Maintain summary of all testing
  • Submit Quality Control reports in accordance with quality program requirements
  • Prepare for and actively participate in Definable Work Phase meetings documented by agenda and meeting minutes for record and follow-up
  • Prepare and maintain all required documentation, records, and reports
  • Work with Quality Control Manager, Project Management, Field Operations, and project stakeholders to establish daily inspection schedules
  • Complete timely execution of Pre-Work, Initial, and Follow-Up Inspections
  • Actively participate in execution of pre-pour checklists with project team
  • Timely conduct pre-final, final and punch list inspections to close each definable work phase
  • Assist with other inspection services as assigned
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and employees
  • Uphold safety standards and ensure projects are working safely
  • Review, understand and ensure appropriate Job Hazard Analysis, Safety Data Sheets, and Site-Specific Safety Plans are available and understood by all team members

Minimum Requirements

  • Prospective applicants must be able to read blueprints and other construction documents
  • Good understanding of concrete materials and building methods
  • Clear and effective oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to exert 25-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move equipment and other objects
  • Current driver's license; clean driving record
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
  • 3 years minimum of construction related or equivalent testing experience is required
  • Possess OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
