DRIVER-HELPER ASSOCIATE
Every full or part time associate is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of his or her shift, within company policy, in such a manner as to ensure that the shift contributes to the increased profitability of the store.
Observes shift operating hours at all times, as assigned by the Supervisor
Performs specific tasks as assigned by the Supervisor
Ensures Supervisor is made aware of all maintenance, safety or order/product discrepancies
Coordinating with partner driver and spotting when necessary to gain access to or depart from delivery locations
Perform required before-, during-, and after-operation “user maintenance” and provide required reports
Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations
Advises Supervisor of any personnel situations or policy violations having an adverse effect on warehouse operating performance
B Security/Safety
Follows company policy with regard to limited access areas and security doors
Shares the responsibility for controlling the inventory
Makes management aware of any safety issues
Maintain and protects company assets at all times in excellent condition
Must wear seat belt at all times while operating company owned or leased trucks
Wear/use any company provided protective safety equipment/apparel
Report all accidents no matter how small
Maintain all required certifications required by DOT, OSHA and company safety programs
C CDL Certification (if applicable)
The Driver Trainee will attend an approved, independent driving school program. M&B will determine the school used based on location and reputation. This will be a full-time program to expedite the trainee through the training process
The Driver Trainee must meet all attendance and other work requirements while attending school, including weekly touch bases with the instructor and Transportation Manager
Must have adequate communication skills to serve customer and store needs
Ability to make overnight runs as required by shipping needs
Be able to read, understand, and write the English language at the eighth-grade level
Be able to read and understand instructions for operating equipment
Be able to lift up to 60 pounds, carrying and moving cases of product
Be able to react to a fire by lifting a fire extinguisher weighing 10 pounds and moving it to the fire area;
Be able to bend frequently in order to move cases of product up to 60 pounds
Be able to speak and understand English, including the ability to hear the spoken word
Must be able to work in severe weather conditions; both heat and cold
Requires prolonged sitting
