Job Description The Student Support Specialist will be responsible for: Coordinating the general transition of students enrolled in the ATC's College Program entering Marshall University. The Student Support Specialist will be responsible for facilitating all meetings during which supports are planned, developing those plans into a visual framework, and leading the creation of initial support plans based upon those meetings; Working closely with professors and university staff involved in teaching (or providing services to) enrolled students. Duties will include providing general and person-specific information to aid in effective teaching, and working with university staff to ensure a basic knowledge base exists for appropriate and effective interaction with students; Serving as a liaison with parents and of students; Collecting and reporting data regarding the progress and goals of incoming students; Assisting outgoing students in accessing peripheral university services, including but not limited to counseling, psychological assessment, medical care and treatment, and specialized tutoring. Included in this duty is the responsibility to provide training and information to essential service personnel so they may effectively serve students; Working closely with academic advisors assigned to incoming freshmen and transfer students; Participating in regular and periodic team meetings with the Program Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator, and working closely with graduate assistants who provide mentoring to students; Facilitating the skills group dedicated to upperclassmen; Other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
Salary Range $38,000- $50,000- Salary is commensurate with experience and internal equity

Required Qualifications
Education - A Bachelor's Degree in a human services discipline
Experience - Professional or personal experience supporting individuals living with an autism spectrum disorder in higher education is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
Education - Master's degree in a human services field is preferred.
