Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing various maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of our facilities. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:
Performs general maintenance on 4425 Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue, NE, 3939 Benning Road, NE and 3732 Minnesota Avenue, NE, to include general maintenance, plumbing and basic electric repair. Responsible for verbal communication with residents. Written communication with the office. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for on-going maintenance and upkeep of all associated buildings. All appropriate standards of safety for him or her, residents and visitors to the facilities. Reporting on the condition of all aspects of the physical facility. Maintaining inventory of supplies, tools and maintaining them in good working order. Emergency on call service. Ensure ordering and delivery or pick up of supplies and obtaining estimates for all work to be performed by contactors. Supervise contractors on properties. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must hold a certificate or diploma in a related field. Completion of an apprenticeship under a professional maintenance techniciana plus. The work environment demands strong concentration and the ability to focus. Work hours will be, for the most part, during the normal daily work hours. Occasionally extended hours may be required. Must be able to work independently; working environment often requires sensitivity to persons with mental disabilities. Reliable transportation is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
