GENERAL SUMMARY:
Accountable to the Manager/Director in collaboration with the Registered Nurse as the direct supervisor, the CNA is responsible for performing patient care activities to meet the personal needs and comfort of patients, assisting members of the health care team, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Perform and assist with basic patient care activities of daily living, such as hygiene, nutrition, elimination and progressive activity.
Perform and record diagnostic measurements, as determined by skills training and validation.
Respond to the Nurse Call System, contact nursing personnel as appropriate, and follow through with meeting patient needs.
Complete required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.
Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, asbestos, and other hazardous substances.
Perform all tasks defined by the unit correctly and accurately.
Interact with all visitors, coworkers and other departments in a customer friendly manner including providing assistance to individuals who may need directions and assisting individuals in finding resources on the patient care area.
Communicate all information to identified personnel by providing feedback to RN concerning work accomplishments and incomplete activities, informing appropriate personnel concerning data collected during patient interactions and communicating accurate information to the patient and family related to patient care activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Must hold a current CNA Certification and a current BLS Certification
