Marsha Fuerst School of Nursing- North-West College is Hiring a Financial Aid Specialist Near San Diego, CA

POSITION SUMMARY

The Financial Aid Specialist/Bursar is responsible for the maintenance of accurate records such as student accounts, payments and refunds. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to performing a variety of duties associated with the disbursement of financial aid and scholarships to eligible students while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the disbursement of financial aid and scholarships to eligible students.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding financial transactions and reporting.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide accurate financial information and support decision-making processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of student accounts, payments, and refunds.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, parents, and staff regarding financial matters.
  • Complete financial information for enrollment forms.
  • Maintain and issue financial aid offer letters.
  • Repackaging students for 2nd and 3rd Academic years.
  • Follow up on Tuition Options contracts.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Strong financial analysis skills to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty, and the public.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software for financial transactions and reporting.
  • Knowledge of financial services in an educational setting, including loan processing and payment plans.
  • Familiarity with education administration practices and regulations.
  • Strong mathematical skills for accurate calculations and reconciliations.
  • Experience as a School Certifying Official (SCO).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
  • Two years’ experience with Title IV required.
  • One to two years of Bursar experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
