Job Title: Regional Family Services Director
Department: Family Services
Location: San Diego, Escondido, and Moreno Valley
Reports To: Vice President, Family Services
FLSA Status: Exempt
Remote Status: Remote capacity is available
Salary Range $90k to $95k

Position SummaryThe Regional Family Services Director reports to the Vice President, Family Services and in collaboration supervises MARSELL ORR Program Directors. The Regional Family Services Director is responsible for the oversight of developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic plans, goals, and objectives for ORR programs. This position will be responsible for monitoring the execution of ORR programs policies and service provision through ongoing quality assurance visits with referral sources and working with the team members.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.   • Supervises and provides support to the ORR Program Directors in addition, functions as first line of clarity for management and senior management in collaboration with the Vice President, Family Services.
  • Provides guidance to Program Directors and team on ORR-related matters and decisions.
  • Set program goals according to the strategic objectives of the organization.
  • Implements ongoing training to ensure compliance with ORR, Community Care Licensing, local and federal standards.
  • Periodically visits all assigned programs and ensures that staff training and support is visible. ​​​​
  • Coordinate with Program Directors to plan programs from start to completion involving deadlines, milestones, processes, and risk mitigation protocols.
  • Discover ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people.
  • Gain insights from Program Directors to determine program progress and issues.
  • Prepare detailed updates and reports for the leadership and executive team.
  • Track and monitor program statistics (i.e., trends, demographics etc.)
  • Manage and carry out the preparation of program information for program grants.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the assigned supervisor and/or management.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises employees in the Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Ensure that employee performance evaluations are completed on a timely basis.
  • Coordinate staffing schedules and supervision.
  • Supervise, coaches, and mentors staff providing guidance to their work and learning including, when necessary, corrective/disciplinary action in a timely and professional manner.
Conducts annual and probationary performance appraisals for assigned staff as assigned.Competencies:To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following.

Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential function.Education/Experience: Master's degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • OR a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years’ experience in child welfare administration, child protective services.
  • 5 years’ experience in child welfare administration and/or child protective services
  • 2 years’ experience in program management, FFA Supervision or as the director of a licensed childcare program.
Language Ability: Read, analyze and interpret business, professional, technical or governmental documents. Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the public.Mathematical Ability: Comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, algebra and advanced statistical theory. Work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.Reasoning Ability: Apply logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Deal with nonverbal symbolism (e.g., formulas and equations) in difficult phases. Deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.Computer Skills:
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficient in the use of standard office equipment.
