Mars is Hiring a Team Leader Retail- Grocery West Near Seattle, WA

Job Description:

This position is accountable to influence $MM in GSV (varies by channel) and effectively manage all region sales activities. The Team Leader is instrumental in collaborating across the Sales functions and within the customer to identify and resolve operational issues while supporting and influencing the development of future channel strategies. This position is responsible for identifying and developing the capabilities, tools and processes needed to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the TSM.


The Team Leader must have proven people leadership, analytical capabilities, and coaching skills to build and develop an effective and highly motivated field sales team. The incumbent must be able to translate company strategies into actionable plans for the region.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in a customer facing or people management role.
  • Excellent organizational and communication (written and oral) skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) Industry experience.
  • Thorough understanding of the retail environment and consumer products.
  • Demonstrated key account management experience.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Recruit, onboard, develop and coach performance of Territory Sales Managers (TSM’s) to drive quality sales volume enabling the team to achieve their key performance indicators (KPI’s).
  • Spend minimum 60% of time in field to ensure accountability and manage individual performance while coaching and developing skills and capabilities to enhance performance and achieve business results.
  • Effectively execute Great Line Management responsibilities inclusive of ongoing performance management and associate development.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive team engagement action plan to foster a high performing team environment.

Total rewards at Mars includes base pay, competitive benefits, and annual bonus (if position is eligible). The full-time pay range for this role is:

USD 99,139.00 - USD 148,709.00
