Mars is Hiring a Global Retail Finance Manager Near Chicago, IL

Job Description:

This position is a key leader within our Global FP&A organization that is responsible for FP&A Analytics, with a specific focus on Cost and Pricing. Specifically, this role creates and owns robust, detailed reporting which provides our business and leadership team visibility and insights into the drivers of our dynamic retail environment. This position is a key player in our ambition to understand our cost and margin drivers, improve our by-SKU profitability, and drive incremental value creation throughout our Ecosystem.

The Global Retail Analyst will be instrumental in developing granular product level Sales, Cost and Margin reporting and analyses vital to support business growth. This role is also responsible for a breadth of critical activities including financial and analytical support to the merchandising team (providing PVM, pricing and promotional analyses) and the demand team (providing inventory reporting, analysis and metrics insights).

What are we looking for?

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Required: 5-7 years of relevant professional experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • PowerBI knowledge
  • RPA (Robotic Process Automation) such as Alteryx or UIPath preferred
  • High learning agility
  • Advanced financial modelling skills.
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in preparing reports and analyses.
  • Exceptional results orientation, with a high degree of personal initiative and leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze, articulate, and solve complex problems and concepts.
  • Respond positively to change, embracing and using new practices or methodologies to accomplish goals and solve problems.
  • Proven self-starter with a record of staying on track and pursuing solutions without supervision.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Creation and maintenance of line item Product Profitability (prime margins) reporting and forecasting
  • Develop pricing tools and analyses to support leadership in all pricing discussions (Demand)
  • Perform PVM (Price/Volume/Mix) Analysis on a periodic and as needed basis
  • Inventory Management / costing and reporting and metrics development and tracking
  • Own and optimize the standard costing process, which allows us to perform robust analysis of our COGS (including tooling/Tariffs and other one-time costs).
  • Own and lead the periodic calculation of PPV (Purchase Price Variance)
  • ICP (interco pricing) Preparation / Pricing and communication to affiliate customers
  • Provide financial support for all Promotional Analyses
  • Develop sustainable process and analysis to support (quarterly) SKU Rationalization
  • Improve process that will allow us to benefit from Hedging Calculations, given the global nature of our business.
