Job Description:
The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for developing the teams’ technical understanding and mastery of process control and is the Centerline owner for an assigned area of the organization. The CI Specialist manages the Area Event Data Systems, leads process definition to identify Centerline targets, documents standards, and develops control strategies to enable operators to respond to out of control situations. They also analyze line data to identify and prioritize loss elimination opportunities, leads root-cause problem solving efforts on key chronic losses for their area of responsibility and coach teams on Centerline execution and problem-solving skills. CI Specialist must effectively facilitate team meetings and communicate issues within an area across shifts. The CI Specialist is considered a Subject Matter Expert around Cleaning – Inspection – Lubrication (CIL) and Centerlines (CLs) in the assigned area.
Owns integrity of Shift Reporting Data
Analyzes line data to identify and prioritize loss elimination opportunities
Leads process definition to identify Centerline targets and document standards
Facilitates the Line Loss Analysis through use of Mars Problem Solving Methodology (Process Reliability Current and Future State)
Mandatory participation on Autonomous Maintenance Pillar as DMS.
Participates in Area Work Teams to accomplish site objectives.
Ensures Changeover improvement targets are achieved.
Leads process definition to identify Centerline targets and document standards
Coaches teams on Centerline execution and problem solving skills
Leads root cause problem solving efforts on key chronic losses for the line/department
Participates in execution of planned stops (Cleaning & Maintenance)
Provides performance data for selected machines and communicates action plans and completed work effectively
Develops and Maintains CIL/CL expert level for related equipment and coaches and trains others on this equipment
Develops control strategies to enable operators to respond to out of control situations
Works with Process Engineer and Team Leads to ensure that all Area, Line and Departmental metrics are achieved.
Ability to spend estimated 75% of their time on the production floor gathering, analyzing data while performing process improvements.
Education/Experience:
3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or a Technical Degree, Supply or technical field of study and 2 years’ experience in a TPM/technical, manufacturing environment
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply, Business, or technical field of study or
4 years of experience in a TPM/technical, manufacturing environment, Lean Six Sigma
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrated experience in leading change and situational leadership
Clear ability to relate to and motivate people and effectively train
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient in MS Office
