Network Support Specialist

Description:

This role entails the upkeep, diagnosis, and repair of computer systems, networks, and equipment within multiple plant locations. Additionally, you'll play a pivotal part in introducing new technologies and enhancements to enhance plant efficiency and output. Collaboration with plant management, IT personnel, and vendors is crucial to guaranteeing the optimal functionality and dependability of the plant's IT framework. This position serves as a vital link between plant facilities and other Corporate IS team members.

Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance to plant facilities regarding technology infrastructure concerns and supervise external resources tasked with addressing these needs, encompassing cabling, WIFI initiatives, and other technical services.

• Collaborate with Network Engineers and Systems Engineers to execute network and systems modifications at plant sites.

• Maintain computer networks and systems, encompassing software, servers, VPNs, routers, switches, wireless access points, and other hardware components.

• Deliver technical support and training to plant personnel on various IT applications and systems.

• Provide on-site technical assistance to designated plant facilities, including diagnosing and resolving PC, peripheral hardware, and other system-related issues.

• Conduct periodic audits of computer inventory at plant locations.

• Install and configure software and hardware as necessary to meet site requirements, encompassing both server and PC-based applications.

• Regularly engage with plant management on technical matters and serve as a liaison between supported sites and the Eden Prairie IT Team.

• Aid in the configuration and deployment of PC-related equipment in accordance with company standards, including new employee setups and upgrades.

• Monitor and assess the performance of plant IT systems and networks, taking corrective measures as required.

• Serve as a primary and secondary technical resource for key technologies across the enterprise as determined by the infrastructure manager.

• Document IT procedures and maintain inventory records, updating them as necessary.

• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, promptly reporting any unsafe conditions or incidents.

Position Requirements:

• An Associate's degree in computer science or a related field is required, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor's degree.

• Candidates should possess 3-5 years of experience in PC and network support.

• Proficiency in Microsoft client and server operating systems, as well as familiarity with related technologies, is essential.

• A solid understanding of networking technologies, including TCP/IP, wireless protocols, and OSI model, is necessary.

• Experience in Active Directory, Group Policy, and other aspects of Microsoft administration is highly desirable.

• Strong analytical and organizational skills are a must.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities are essential for effective collaboration.

• Adherence to industry and vendor best practices is expected.

• Prior experience with hyperconverged computing and virtualization.

• Familiarity with Meraki wireless, Palo Alto Firewalls, HPE/Cisco networking, and SD-WAN technologies is advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
