Overview

Create invoices and submit them to customers. Bill and collect all revenue owed to the hotel in an accurate, timely manner in accordance with accounting policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, reconcile, and issue bills, invoices, and account statements according to company procedures
  • Follow-up and resolve past due accounts and vendor invoices until payment in full is received or resolved
  • Research customer discrepancies and past due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files
  • Respond to guest billing inquiries over the phone
  • Creates reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy
  • Organize, secure, and maintain all files and records
  • Record, store, access, and/or analyze computerized financial information
  • Classify, code, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records using computers
  • Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets; protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language; prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals
  • Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience required.
  • Experience in Hotel or Hospitality related Finance and Accounting preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. 
  • Ability to compile facts and figures. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
