Job Title: Officer Sec & Safety Svcs I

Job Description Date: 11/14/06
Job Purpose: 
Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and employees throughout the property and surrounding complex. Provide security for special events, shows and functions held at the hotel and convention center facilities.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Monitor the safety and security of the property and surrounding complex through mobile/foot patrol, stationary post and traffic control.
2. Perform safety duties at special events including: checking access passes, protecting property, maintaining order, and directing traffic for hotel or client paid special events, shows, concerts or other functions.
3. Provide assistance to guests and employees in need of medical attention, while awaiting the arrival of emergency medical personnel. May be required to administer minor first aid including CPR and AED.
4. Respond to hotel and emergency events.
5. Prepare incident, accident, and other reports that may be required at a specific post assignment.
6. Conduct safety inspections. Report safety hazards and defective equipment to maintenance for repair.
7. Provide security to dignitaries and celebrities. When requested or required, escort employees or hotel clients carrying cash or other valuables.
8.

Conduct employee parcel inspections, ID verification, and enforce company

policies and procedures.

9. Provide on the job training and orientation to new security agents as needed.
10. Support Lost and Found operation as required.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications: 
Education High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience Security related or law enforcement experience preferred, but not required. Must be able to complete the security classroom and on-the-job training program. Hospitality experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Licenses/Certifications Valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record may be required CPR certification or attain certification within 90 days of start date, must be registered in accordance with the state law (timeframe varies by state requirement).

Customarily and regularly direct the work of at least 2 or more full-time STARS or their equivalent (1 full-time STAR at 40 and 2 half-time STARS at 20 hours each , are equivalent to 2 full-time STARS).
Authority to hire or fire other STARS, or makes suggestions and recommendations as to the hiring, firing , advancement, promotion or any other change of status of other employees are given particular weight.
