Chicago Marriot Northwest is looking for a Head Housekeeper. The role of the Head Housekeeper is to successfully oversee the entire housekeeping operation and team on a daily basis, looking after all public areas of Clarges Mayfair and to provide the highest level of care and service to all residents, internal employees / clients and directors in line with the agreed service level and procedures. First and foremost is to always be motivated, highly engaged to provide personalised “world class” customer care and service to all residents, internal employees / clients and directors in line with the agreed service standards and procedures. Ensuring every resident request is completed promptly and decisively, aspiring to make the impossible, possible!

Responsibilities :

  • Manage, motivate and develop individuals within the team to enable them to meet current and future team and Resident needs.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Residences create team rotas to ensure adequate coverat all positions at all times to ensure the provision of a consistent service.
  • Provide day to day direction and support to the Housekeeping team, ensuring that all training and competency records for each team member are completed.
  • To anticipate any resident’s needs, follow up and ensure that the resident expectations are met and where possible exceeded.
  • Personalised bespoke service is maintained for every individual resident, knowing their preferences and specific needs.
  • Attention to detail on all aspects of the job, whether it’s resident service or maintaining and managing Clarges Mayfair to the required immaculate level.
  • To ensure that an accurate log is maintained for any resident deliveries as per the set standards.
  • To ensure that a detailed daily log is maintained for any incidents, resident issues and shift handover.
  • Be reliable, flexible, honest and a strong advocate for Portico and the Client.
  • Liaise regularly with the Director of Residences to ensure the provision of a personalised focused service.
  • Delegate in a way that encourages development and creates a sense of ownership and responsibility at all levels.
  • Coach individuals in the team to build a high performing team to meet Resident’s needs.
  • Reward and recognise individual and team performance to encourage an engaged and motivated team.
  • Actively and positively engage with colleagues, residents, visitors, clients and our service providers to ensure a seamless service experience is created.
  • Anticipate resident’s needs and follow up to ensure that their expectations are met and wher wherepossible exceeded.
  • Ensure that a great working relationship is maintained with our client and other departments within the building.
  • Take ownership and responsibility ensuring you are working effectively and developing close relationships with your colleagues.
  • Support your colleagues and assist coaching new starters through their probation periods.
  • Hold monthly team meetings, in cooperation with the Director of Residences, and daily handovers with the team to ensure that all relevant information is cascaded.
  • Assist Senior Management with any projects, as directed, and implement and feedback on any actions as necessary.
  • Ensure that all staff Health & Safety training is completed and updated.
  • To handle all incoming telephone calls / enquiries promptly giving a warm, courteous welcome and using the agreed salutation.
  • Working close to all our service partners and maintaining a good relationship to expandbusiness.
  • To carry out regular floor walks and security checks of the building and reporting and logging any details as required.
  • To check, read and action e-mails and other requests regularly and on a timely basis.
  • To liaise and communicate with other team members and other service departments in a clear and timely manner to ensure service delivery and team work.
  • Taking ownership and liaising any resident requests as required.
  • Actively promoting “Bespoke Concierge” services to all the residents and visitors and to work close with all service providers.

Safety and Security:

  • Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to the Head Concierge.
  • Follow client and department safety and security policies and procedures to maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment.
  • Maintain awareness of suspicious persons on property premises.
  • Follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters).
  • Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to management and security/safety personnel.

Administration:

  • To maintain an organised and tidy work area – this is to include your desk, reception area, lobby and resident floor corridors.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the day to day supervision of the Housekeeping team runs smoothly.
  • To maintain appropriate stationery stocks, products, tools and equipment for your team.
  • Any other reasonable tasks asked to be performed by the management according to the changing business needs.
  • Protect the privacy and security of residents / resident’s guests and coworkers.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary materials and information
  • Ensure uniform, and personal appearance are clean, hygienic, professional and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Administrating any projects/presentation as required by the Director of Residences.
  • Analyses information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Informs and/or updates the Director of Residences on relevant information in a timely manner.
  • Participates in departmental meetings and continually communicates a clear and consistent message regarding the front of house goals to produce desired results.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
