Shift: Weekday, Weeknight and Weekend based on business needs

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00/hr

Job Purpose:

The MMR Adventures Manager is responsible for developing, supervising, and leading adventure activities and public events. You will operate safely and efficiently and will be responsible for the successful soliciting, booking, and planning within your areas of oversight. You will work closely with the general manager and resort and mountain operations teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Honoring Commitments:

• Oversight and management of operations, hiring, staffing, procurement, budgets, inventory, training, POS, products, and services in reporting departments.

• Ensures they are available and scheduled during high volume time frames and/or special events which include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Creating Positive Experiences:

• Promotes Marquette Mountain in a positive and professional manner at all times.

• Creates a safe and fun environment for staff and guests.

• Maintains a positive and professional approach with coworkers, vendors, and guests.

Fostering Lifelong Learning:

• Takes initiative to learn each reporting department and provides operational support to all reporting departments.

• Provides training and mentoring and performs reviews of reporting staff.

• Learns business and operational systems and creates them where needed.

Exhibiting Pioneering Spirit:

• Works closely with the senior leadership team on larger mountain-wide events.

• Identifies and implements new revenue streams and efficiencies.

Demonstrating Good Stewardship:

• Aligns with and assists in MMR operational goals, mission, and vision.

• Solicits and books business for reporting departments.

• Works closely with marketing and the general manager to promote activities and events.

• Learns, upholds, and promotes all company policies and procedures, and codes and laws of all oversight agencies and entities.

• Year Round Public Events

• Winter & Summer Sports Schools (snowsport & mountain bike lessons)

• Summer Mountaineers Kids Camps

• Guided Adventures: Kayak, Hike, Bike

• Winter and Summer Race (alpine & mountain bike)

• Marketing duties as assigned

Other Duties as Assigned:

• Adapt to the evolving needs of the organization and undertake additional responsibilities as required, reflecting our commitment to flexibility and responsiveness in meeting business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or Bachelor’s Degree in Outdoor Recreation, Business, Hospitality or similar field (desired)

• Two years experience in a hospitality or events environment in the Ski Industry (desired)

• Two years experience in a guest services guest facing role

• One year of employee leadership/management/sales experience (desired)

• One year event or project management experience

• Whitepeaks POS proficiency/Point of Sale (POS) software proficiency and Google Sheets, Docs, Drive & Gmail proficiency (desired)

• Clear and effective communicator, written and verbal

• Collaborative

• Detail oriented

• Efficiency minded

• Ability to create and follow systems

• High ability to collaborate, plan function within a team environment

• High ability to plan and anticipate future needs

• Strong passion for outdoor recreation & education

• Valid Driver’s License
