Marquee Broadcasting Kentucky, Inc. is looking for a full-time Anchor/MMJ to:
* Present daily news stories during designated newscasts in a clear and effective manner that engages viewers.
* Review all copy on designated shows, fact check and correct any errors.
* Must be able to research and gather pertinent information about community events and conduct live interviews.
* Report on compelling, impactful stories and address the issues facing our community.
The ideal candidate should be plugged into the community, be able to gather information quickly and effectively, and report on the facts.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Enterprise, pitch, research, and deliver local, original, and factual news stories
- Build relationships within the community and establish a strong presence, outside of newscasts
- Report, write, and capture quality visual content and sound
- Edit and produce stories for multiple platforms on a tight deadline
- Demonstrate strong editorial judgment while following journalistic ethics and libel laws
- Work independently, as well as with news management and production team, in the news gathering process
- Responsible for representing News40 in a professional manner, inside and outside the studio
- Engage with the community in public appearances
- Strategically engage in social media, as an ambassador of the News40 brand
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience
- Participate in an established on-call rotation
- Perform other duties as assigned
