Join our skilled team of technicians as a Kitchen Systems Fire Extinguisher (KSFE) Technician in our Savannah, GA location. In this role, you will both work in the field and in our warehouse. While in the field at our customer sites, you will recharge, install, inspect and repair kitchen fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers. While in the warehouse, you will inspect, repair, and test fire extinguishers using hand tools, hydrostatic test equipment, and monitoring devices.
Specifically, you will:
Dismantle extinguishers and examine mechanical parts, extinguishing agents, and expelling means and replace worn or damaged parts
Clean extinguishers and recharge them with approved materials
Generally work Monday to Friday, but be flexible for customer needs, including nights and weekends.
Inspect fire extinguishers and kitchen systems according to safety standards.
Fix restaurant fire systems made by top companies like ANSUL and Kidde.
Know the rules for fire systems and extinguishers.
Be ready to fix systems in emergencies.
Find and report any safety problems.
Write detailed reports and keep things organized.
Be polite and helpful to customers.
Keep your work area clean and safe.
To be successful in this role, you should have the following education, skills and experiences:
High school diploma or equivalent, required.
2 years of experience inspecting restaurant fire suppression systems, preferred.
Hold a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, required.
Consent for a background check upon acceptance of the offer letter.
Demonstrated track record of being reliable and having a strong work ethic.
Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing in English and the ability to interact with customers, employees and vendors in a professional manner.
Strong organizational and detail-oriented documentation skills (we use various online platforms such as Google Docs, Sharepoint, Servicetrade, etc.).
Real time problem solving skills.
Effective time management skills and the ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
Ability to work some evenings and weekends as customers’ schedules dictate.
Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools more than 50lbs
Ability to work in sometimes difficult positions like climbing ladders, high lift equipment, working in crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
