Join our skilled team of technicians as a Kitchen Systems Fire Extinguisher (KSFE) Technician in our Ashland, VA location. In this role, you will use your experience as a KSFE technician to install, inspect and repair kitchen fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers across central Virginia (mostly within a 250 mile radius of Ashland).
Specifically, you will:
Work a standard work week from Monday to Friday while remaining flexible to accommodate our customers' needs, including availability for after-hours and weekend appointments.
Conduct inspections on fire extinguishers in compliance with NFPA 10 standards, as well as kitchen extinguishing systems adhering to NFPA 17-17A and UL 300 regulations.
Perform inspections and repairs on pre-engineered restaurant fire suppression systems produced by leading manufacturers such as ANSUL, Pyro Chem, RangeGuard, Kidde, Piranha, and others.
Utilize a comprehensive understanding of NFPA guidelines, manufacturer specifications, and local fire codes pertaining to restaurant fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers.
Offer on-site emergency troubleshooting services for fire suppression systems as needed.
Identify any NFPA code violations and other non-conformance issues.
Generate accurate and punctual inspection reports, complete with customer signatures, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail, to be submitted electronically (less commonly on paper from time to time).
Maintain professionalism in communication and strive to deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
Ensure a clean and safe work environment is maintained throughout all operations.
To be successful in this role, you should have the following education, skills and experiences:
High school diploma or equivalent, required.
At least 3 years of experience inspecting restaurant fire suppression systems, required.
Hold a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, required.
Consent for a background check upon acceptance of the offer letter.
Demonstrated track record of being reliable and having a strong work ethic.
Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing in English and the ability to interact with customers, employees and vendors in a professional manner.
Strong organizational and detail-oriented documentation skills (we use various online platforms such as Google Docs, Sharepoint, Servicetrade, etc.).
Real time problem solving skills.
Effective time management skills and the ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
