Job title: Student Education Interns (Summer): Title One Grades K-4/Special Education Extended School Year (ESY) Grades PreK-5

School Year: Summer 2024

Dates: July 1, 2024- August 1, 2024 (Monday- Wednesday the first week and Monday - Thursday all other weeks)

Salary: $18.00 per hour to be paid off timesheets

Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority:

Works with MPS Summer Staff under either Director of Special Education, Director of Elementary Curriculum and Instruction and/or his/her designee

Interns can be assigned to the following:

• Assist teachers/staff with supporting students within and beyond the classroom setting
• Escort and supervise students to and from various school facilities and areas
• Take initiative and work collaboratively with others
• Assist students with common daily tasks
• Assist with supervision of students (arrival, dismissal, play time, snack)
• Assist in fostering a positive environment for students
• Responsible for general duties as indicated by the teacher, staff, supervisors
• Perform general support functions for teachers/staff (copying, collecting materials, distribution of materials, etc.).
• Responsible for other general duties as indicated by administrators or his/her designee

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 Years completed high school and in good academic standing
• Able to secure dependable daily transportation to/from the workplace
• Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese) preferred
• Interest in learning about a future career in education
