Senior Operations Manager

Alliance Printing

Alliance Printing is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day activities of the company, ensuring that the organization is managed and performing efficiently and effectively.

Job Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
  • Ensures work environments are adequate and safe.
  • Oversee operations /purchasing, and production planning, ensuring each is reaching goals set by departmental and company leadership.
  • Plans, directs, controls, implements, evaluates, monitors key process indicators to achieve financial and growth objectives for the division.
  • Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to managers; for major changes, meets with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.
  • Leads coordination and integration of efforts among operations, engineering, production planning, and customer service divisions to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes.
  • Oversees the manufacture of products, ensuring production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Reviews production reports to ensure safety, quality, financial, and delivery goals and standards are met.
  • Ensures a healthy and safe working environment, and compliance with federal and state regulations, through collaboration with environmental, health, and safety staff.
  • Assists VP of Operations with long-range operating goals, expansion efforts, and implementation of new and advanced technology.
  • Identifies and shares training opportunities for staff to build and improve skills.
  • Organizes departmental management structure and teams for optimal, efficient operations.
  • Delivers progress and production reports to executive team members as requested.
  • Supervises equipment purchase, maintenance, and layout.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Provides manufacturing information to senior leadership by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions, and responding to requests.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • Participates in the hiring and training of departmental managers.
  • Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of departmental managers.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and finance.
  • Superior managerial and diplomacy skills, verbal and written communication and interpersonal.
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Extensive and diversified background with at least 10 years of related experience.
  • Green Belt and or Black Belt Training
  • 5 or more years’ print experience and managing employees

Physical Requirements:

Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to position.

Push/Pull: Maximum force pushed/pulled: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction

Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.

Standing: Standing for sustained periods of time.

Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
