SUMMARY

Supports the Admissions Department activities in the pre-admission and admission process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIIES include the following (Other duties maybe assigned) :

• Reviews and approves resident / patient referrals.
• Monitors the inquiries for admissions and follow-up in a timely manner (within 10 minutes or less).
• Tracks pre-admission referral activity daily / weekly. Keeps a daily log for weekly reporting.
• Coordinates the admission, makes arrangements and confirmation of all needed admission information. Notifies Departments of anticipated admission for the assigned buildings.

• Verifies insurance coverage / eligibility and runs the sex offender’s website on all patient referrals for potential admission and secure admission authorizations prior to admission.
• Ensures proper identification and coordination of specialized equipment / DME prior to admission, including other necessary clinical information to insure a smooth patient transition upon admission.
• Other assigned duties and responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor Degree preferred and or with LVN license.
• One or more years’ experience in healthcare / insurance or commensurate education preferred.
• Proficient in the use of personal computer.
