Job Title: Dietary Supervisor (CDM License)
Location: Nursing Home, Long Beach, CA
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Dietary Supervisor with a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) license to join our team in a nursing home setting. As a Dietary Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the dietary department, ensuring high-quality food service, and meeting the nutritional needs of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise dietary staff, including cooks, servers, and dishwashers, to ensure efficient and effective operations
• Plan and coordinate menus, food purchasing, and food preparation to meet resident needs and preferences
• Manage inventory, ordering, and receiving of food and supplies
• Ensure compliance with dietary restrictions, allergies, and special diets
• Conduct nutritional assessments and develop individualized care plans for residents
• Collaborate with healthcare team to provide therapeutic diets and nutrition interventions
• Maintain accurate records, including resident nutrition plans, menu plans, and food safety records
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including Title 22 and HACCP
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure quality improvement and customer satisfaction
• Manage department budget and resources
• Provide training and education to dietary staff on food safety, sanitation, and customer service
Requirements:
• Current CDM license in good standing
• 2 years of experience in a healthcare food service setting, preferably in a nursing home
• Strong knowledge of nutrition, food science, and food safety
• Proven leadership and management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Familiarity with regulations and standards governing long-term care facilities
• Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed
• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field preferred
