Marine Corps Community Services is Hiring a RECREATION ASSISTANT NF2* (FLEX) SINGLE MARINE & SAILOR PROGRAM Near Island, HI

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! This position is located at Marine Corps Base Hawaii - Single Marine & Sailor Program . Candidates selected for this position will serve as a Recreation Attendant NF2 for MCCS.

Major Duties

Incumbent is assigned to the Single Marine and Sailor Program (SM&SP) whose target population is single and unaccompanied active duty service members E-5 and below. Performs and/or assists in the operation of the activity. Based on established policies, incumbent carries out assigned phases of designated activity applying an understanding of the interest and needs of program participants. Assists the Single Marine & Sailor Program Coordinator in developing a comprehensive program providing opportunities to develop and enhance the patrons’ recreational, health and wellness including life skills, career development, community involvement, volunteer opportunities, and quality of life issues. Typical assignments may include: establishing schedules of events; applying rules and regulations in supervising participants in indoor and outdoor activities; scheduling, coordinating reservations, and conducting tours and trips. Demonstrates procedures common to the activities, and instructs in the use of related equipment. Conducts classes and briefs for commands, visitors, new joints, base organizations and local community contacts and represents SM&SP at events. Provides clerical assistance to SM&SP Coordinator and maintains routine reports. Helps to plan and coordinate details of activities and maintains related supplies. Assists in planning, scheduling and publicizing various activities to attract and motivate participants. Ensures adherence to safety rules and regulations.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum one year experience in a related activity. Skill to demonstrate activities and use of related facility equipment. Skill to learn applicable MCCS policies and procedures. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
