Life Skills Coach/Day Program Caregiver - $20-22/hr to start with $800 Signing Bonus if Hired

Marin Ventures is an upbeat team work environment with a great staff to client ratio, plenty of resources and daytime hours - with no Nights or Weekends. We provide art instruction, cooking, music, living skills courses and more activities in a well-resourced adult day program center. Work on a team in a structured professional workplace. Share your own interests in cooking, sewing, gardening, music. You will also drive and/or accompany clients on a variety of outings in Marin County for swimming, bowling, to parks, libraries, and other special events.

We are currently looking for Life Skills Coaches at our adult day care program located in San Rafael, CA 94903. Interested candidates should have experience working with people with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities of the Life Skills Coach:

• Teach and engage in activities reflecting client preferences and ISP objectives.

• Support clients’ maximum independence in all activities.

• Teach and train clients in employment and independent living skills.

• Assist clients with lunch and snacks which includes supervision of eating and drinking, or feeding them, or providing a level of support that enables them to finish meals and snacks.

• On staff rotation basis, assist clients with personal care and hygiene.

• Take clients on community outings using agency vehicles, personal car, and/or public transportation.

• Complete basic documentation: observation and seizure reports, case notes, data on clients’ goals and objectives, van logs, mileage/expense reports, and administrative paperwork.

• Share observations regarding client progress or concerns with Program Coordinators.

Requirements of the Life Skills Coach:

• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) or any combination of similar education and experience.

• Must be 18 years or older.

• Must have a current valid CA driver’s license and a clean driving record for a minimum of two years. 

• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities.

• Ability to drive agency vehicles.

Compensation for the Life Skills Coach:

• $20-22/hr depending on experience and $800 start bonus with 1/3 in first paycheck.
• Regular bonus and pay increases for good performance.
