Job Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Caregivers. As a Caregiver, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and care to individuals with autism and developmental disabilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming
- Support individuals in maintaining a safe and clean living environment
- Prepare meals and assist with meal planning
- Administer medication according to prescribed guidelines
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Implement behavior management strategies as directed by the care plan
- Document observations, progress, and incidents accurately and timely
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of direct support principles and practices
- Ability to provide compassionate care while promoting independence and dignity
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with individuals and their families
- Basic understanding of meal preparation techniques and dietary restrictions
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques is a plus
- Ability to administer medication accurately and safely (training will be provided if necessary)
- High school diploma or equivalent
