Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is seeking a full-time Short-Term Student Services Analyst in Academic Advisement. This position coordinates, administers, and implements student academic advisement programs by providing operational planning, program management and evaluation, and direct student service delivery, which includes providing educational planning, problem resolution, and technical assistance to students.
To best serve the students, department, and college, this position requires a physical presence on campus, with the possibility of partial remote work depending on business needs.

This is a short-term position with a projected end date of June 30, 2025 with renewal contingent on funding source.

50% - Provides professional-level end-to-end academic advising to a caseload of students, to support student learning, persistence, and degree completion. Provides one-to-one and group academic advising to ensure ongoing successful progress to graduation. Provides advice and guidance to students on goal setting, decision making, transfer pathways, and support services. Monitors progress toward certificate/degree using PeopleSoft progress reports and other technologies. Identifies academic options including extracurricular activities, study abroad program(s), research, and internships. Provides ongoing, proactive follow up to ensure student learning and progress outcomes are met.
30% - Facilitates activities related to the Guided Pathways framework and the case management approach to program advisement. Works collaboratively and collegially with academic units, faculty, and student services throughout the college and across the district to improve and advance the role of advisement in student success. Acts as college/department liaison to current and prospective students, faculty, staff, and external groups on issues related to academic advising and success. Serve as a member of the college Guided Pathways Steering Committee and other SCC committees. Interprets and explains College and Maricopa Community College District policies and procedures. Supervises and provides work direction to undergraduate student workers as needed. Handles immediate or sensitive issues requiring confidentiality.
10% - Researches and applies best practices aligned with National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) professional standards. Initiates projects related to student learning, success, and retention. Participate in College outreach, recruitment, and retention events. Prepares and presents at new student orientations and information sessions for current and prospective students.
10% - Develops and assesses student learning outcomes. Conducts assessments. Analyzes and maintains program data to gauge student learning and success, as well as program effectiveness. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
