The Department of Career and Educational Planning (Academic Advisement) at South Mountain Community College (SMCC) is seeking a Student Employee who is responsible for customer service for our front desk. In this role, the Student Employee will be responsible for greeting students and the general public; educating students on how degree and certificate pathways at SMCC align with the nine Fields of Interest (FOI); assisting students in setting appointments with their FOI academic advisor using the ConexEd web-based appointment scheduling system; completing reminder calls for student appointments; answering the phone; returning phone calls; assisting students in navigating their online Student Center; teaching students how to search for classes in the online course catalog; assisting staff and students during New Student Orientation sessions; directing students to on campus resources and support services; performing data entry; performing related tasks as assigned.
In order to qualify for a Federal Work-Study (FWS) job, a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be on file for the current award year and have eligible financial needs based on the college requirements.
