Job Summary

The Student Service Analyst is responsible for coordinating, planning, and directing the Peer Success Coach program. The Peer Success Coach program is designed to support students holistically by increasing engagement through connection to opportunities and resources, facilitating referrals to college personnel and community organizations in response to basic and academic needs, and coaching in areas of academic success, time management and self advocacy to increase the achievement of short term and long term goals. The Analyst will recruit, hire, supervise, and facilitate training for peer success coaches (part-time temporary workers). Use research-based assessment tools to identify themes of student needs, barriers to success and potential areas for improvement. Responsibilities include establishing strong relationships with GCC Support Services and supporting aspects of basic needs and the system of care at GCC.
Essential Functions

50% - Recruit, hire, supervise, coach, monitor academic progress, and facilitate training for peer success coaches
20% - Partner with various GCC departments and programs for student support. Plan and Manage outreach campaigns throughout the year to support the advising department, college and other student services departments and establish strong relationships with GCC Support Services to increase utilization of support services and engagement with events, activities and opportunities.
15% - Support aspects of Basic Needs and the System of Care at GCC including facilitating coverage and stocking of the pantry, and administering Student Emergency Funds and other funding opportunities, and performs other duties as assigned.
10% - Collects and analyzes student data and utilizes research-based assessment tools to identify themes of student needs, barriers to success and potential areas for improvement. Assessments include:

  • Satisfaction
  • Engagement
5% - Facilitate the creation of Program Literature, student communications and campus specific messaging directing students to both internal and external support services or resources.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Desired Qualifications

A. Experience in leading the work of student employees.
B. Experience in developing and/or maintaining partnerships in the workplace.
C. Experience working with diverse student populations as it relates to non-traditional learners, first-generation, low-income, and other marginalized communities in higher education.
D. Experience preparing analytical reports using data collection and/or analysis to inform progress on programmatic outcomes.
E. Experience using technology to support academic advising, student success, student learning, and/or career advising, with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, databases, and/or student information systems.
F. Experience with supporting aspects of basic needs.
G. Experience in student messaging and/or communicating program benefits.
Special Working Conditions

  • Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense
