Job Summary

The Fiscal Specialist will process the more complex student account/cashier functions such as MSRP refunds, reconciliation reports, front line support for faculty/staff/departments, 3rd party transactions, and other departmental transactions. This position includes addressing student issues, monitoring refunds, and resolving billing issues. This position also provides support for the Enrollment Services staff pertaining to cashier functions such as batch reconciliation, account payments, tuition waivers, and credit card refunds. The Fiscal Specialist will service as the liaison with other MCC departments as it pertains to cashier functions/activities.
Essential Functions

50% - Process, create, and research complex student account/cashier transaction such as account payments, reconciliation reports, and account issues
20% - Assist faculty, staff, and staff dependent/student at Cashier Service window with tuition waivers, out of country affidavits, departmental deposits, and reconciling accounts
15% - Post payments to Student Information System (VA Payments, student payments, foundation payments, etc.)
10% - Batch and prepare nightly close out duties which include reconciliation, researching errors, verifying reports, and closing office
5% - Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and one year of (full-time equivalent) financial support experience in area related to assignment such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, or cash handling.
OR
High School Diploma/GED and three years of (full-time equivalent) financial support experience in area related to assignment such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, or cash handling.
Desired Qualifications

A. Experience working with confidential information
B. Experience with computerized student information systems such as PeopleSoft, Banner or Campus Vue
C. Experience analyzing data and communicating results
D. Experience working in a higher educational setting
E. Experience utilizing a high degree of customer service skills
F. Experience in banking, student accounts, or retail financial transactions
Special Working Conditions

Work Schedule Monday - Thursday, 9:30 am- 6:30 pm Fridays 7:30 am-4:30 pm
Peak Hour Schedule Monday - Thursday, 10:30 am - 7:30 pm Fridays 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
Summer Hour Schedule Monday - Thursday 7:30 am - 6:30 pm
May be required to work weekends during peak times
May be required to sit for a prolonged period of time; viewing a computer monitor
Will be required to work in an area of light to heavy noise levels daily
