Spanish Faculty Position Description:

Marianapolis Preparatory School seeks a qualified teacher, preferably with three to five years

experience in an independent secondary school setting, to teach Spanish Language at both the

Advanced Placement® and entry levels, with the collaboration and supervision of the Chair of the

Modern Languages Department. Part-time and full-time options may be available for the 2024-

25 school year. ClearTouch Technology is utilized to facilitate the synchronous learning

experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have:

• demonstrable skills in oral and written communication
• global travel and cultural immersion experience
• knowledge and experience in using educational technology in language teaching
• Advanced Low Proficiency (or its equivalent) in written and spoken Spanish
• familiarity with ACTFL Performance Descriptors, Proficiency Guidelines, World Readiness

Standards for Learning Languages, Core Practices, and NCSSFL-ACTFL Can-Do Statements

All teacher candidates are expected to have either experience or interest in learning the

Understanding by Design curriculum development framework. Preferred candidates must enjoy

working with adolescents, have an ability to work well in a student-centered curriculum, and

understand student learning styles and differentiated instruction.

In addition, the full-time position includes: advising, participation as an athletic coach or

activities leader for two seasons each year, and involvement in residential life —understanding

that the typical commitment involves both after school activities and weeknight-weekend

supervision.
