Marian University is Hiring a Program Specialist for Preach All Ways Near Indianapolis, IN

As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks a Program Specialist to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by supporting the Preach All Ways Initiative within the Franciscan Leadership Institute. The program specialist will support the Director of the Preach All Ways initiative and Franciscan Leadership Institute by helping to oversee the planning and coordination of new activities, communicating with partners, and gathering resources on new activities and programs, and planning and attending collaboration meetings to ensure projects are on schedule.

Preach All Ways is a “start-up” ministry. The ideal candidate will have a joy-filled missionary spirit and willingness to take on new opportunities. The Program Specialist will help create and implement organizational processes that advance the initiative goals and create an enjoyable “user experience” for partners and participants. S/he must be knowledgeable of the Catholic Church, its teachings and structures. The Program Specialist needs the ability to make presentations as well as represent Marian University in a positive and professional way to diverse populations.

The program specialist is a part-time position expected to work, on average, 10 hours per week. Preach All Ways is created through the generous funding of Lilly Endowment. The position is fully funded through December 2028 with the goal of continuing the program after the grant period has ended.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
  • Performs a wide variety of clerical, budgetary/financial, technical, administrative, and office support duties in support of the director of Preach All Ways and the Franciscan Leadership Institute.
  • Organizes and coordinates meetings and events with various groups including ministry partners, pastors, contractors, and high school/college students.
  • Represents Preach All Ways to various audiences including ministry partners, pastors, contractors, and high school/college students.
  • Collects and manages information for the purpose of providing up to date data regarding initiatives and measurements of success in achieving established goals in each area.
  • Organizes, edits, and publishes communications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to embody the Catholic and Franciscan identity of the University as a practicing Catholic, exhibiting public conduct and ministerial practices reflective of the teaching of the Catholic Church.
  • Bachelor’s degree in theology, ministry, communications, or related field.
  • Ease with technology and experience with Microsoft products including Word and Excel. Ability to learn new programs quickly without manager oversight.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Impeccable grammar.
  • Preference will be given to those with the ability to speak Spanish.
